A meeting of farmers and growers when it began — and at heart, that is what it remains.The Chertsey Show
Formed in 1833, the Chertsey Show is the only traditional agricultural show left within the M25 — and we have gathered the parish every year since, through near two centuries of changing seasons. It began as a meeting of farmers and growers, and that is still its heart: a day given over to the land, the livestock, and the people who work them.
Walk the showground and you will find the rings busy from morning to dusk with arena displays and countryside demonstrations, the marquees full of horticulture, flowers, and traditional crafts, and the lines of farm and domestic animals waiting to be judged. The Chertsey Horse Show and the Companion Dog Show each keep their own ring, with classes and displays running right through the day.
Children Go Free
The Chertsey Agricultural Association exists to keep farming and growing close to the community — and there is no better introduction than a day among the animals. We want children to see where their food comes from, to meet the livestock, and to spend an afternoon outdoors rather than on a screen.
Every child aged 14 and under comes in free. Between the animal lines, the hands-on activities, and the fairground rides, it is a day made for young visitors to wander, learn, and enjoy themselves.

The Show is built as much by those who enter it as by those who visit. Across two days there are more than 200 competition classes open to amateurs and seasoned competitors alike — home-grown produce and home-made wine, artwork and photography, baking, crafts, and even the household pets. Whatever you grow, make, or keep, there is very likely a class with your name on it.

Become a Member of the Association
The Chertsey Agricultural Association is a registered charity, and its members are what keep the Show going year after year. Joining is a way of standing behind a piece of local heritage — and of becoming part of the small community that plans, runs, and looks after it.
Members receive a warm welcome at the Show and a hand in how the Association is run. To join, simply complete the membership form and return it to us.
